y'all this has been a wild ride. this book did not drag at all and I'm speechless right now. I'm satisfied with how everything (and everyone) ended up to be, and I'm so glad I took the time to read this trilogy.
I will be expanding this review later maybe, but don't count on it.

As with the other books in this series, it’s a fairy light and fun fantasy read. Jaron is still smart, witty, and a right pain in the ass. But it all works out in the end.
The plot of this one didn’t feel as strong to me as the other ones. But I still enjoyed it.

Definitely a predictable series, but it was cute and a quick easy read.

TRIFECTA!!!
This trilogy goes on my must-give-to-nieces-and-neffies shelf between The Ranger's Apprentice and a year or so before The Wizard of Earthsea.
Intelligence, honor, ethics, grit, sorrow, choices - I suggest for ages 9, 10, 11 + myself.
(If you're jaded and angsty, don't bother. Somethings keep getting written *because they're worth reading*.)

Not sure what all else I can say about this book. But like any good high fantasy finally, it ends making you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I love this series, perhaps because of Jaron, who is literally one of my favorite characters that any one has written. And I love his plots and schemes, I love that he always has a plan yet never has a plan. I love a lot of the other characters. Sometimes I wish there was more detail in some of the descriptions (like about Connor) and plots, but over all I think the brevity is also one of it's strong points. All and all a good ending for this series but I'm not sure it was as great as the other two.

Just one small caveat but otherwise OH MY WORD. This is everything I didn't know I needed in a fantasy series. Jaron is my new favorite character, Roden and Tobias are both brilliant, and everyone else...I've never been so happy with the ending of a book in my life.
I buddy read this-- or rather, warfare read it-- with my younger sister, which involved much shrieking, many sly "you won't believe what happens in chapter 26"'s, and one bet as to whether a certain character death was real. xD Loads of fun and I 10/10 recommend.
THIS SERIES IS EPIC Y'ALL. BE QUICK ON YOUR FEET LIKE JARON AND YOU WILL GO PLACES IN LIFE.

Finally, we have some character development. I surprisingly enjoyed The Shadow Throne more than I thought I would.
Jaron, Jaron, Jaron… Why are you always being so difficult. Once again, Jaron did stupid things in the earlier chapters. And of course, he got into some trouble. Again.
I can’t with him — I just can’t.
This book is getting more interesting for me the moment Imogen die. I definitely didn’t see that coming. However, it was a little bit silly how Jaron managed to trick the villain. It was just... meh(?) IMO, it was very underwhelming.
Although the writing is still bugging me and there are things that completely ridiculous, the plot is much better than the previous books.
