I love historical romance and I loved Ms. Vayden's The One, so when I saw her How to Silence a Rogue, I immediately jumped at the chance to read it! And I have to say that I was impressed with how well written it was because I know writing a historical romance and making it good isn't easy, but man, did she do it! It was utterly fantastic and I had such a good time reading How to Silence a Rogue.

I really like Maria - she's an awesome heroine! She's smart, she speaks her mind, and she's strong. Maria's a little mischievous and devious and she's observant and good at figuring things out. Maria is a sweet, funny girl with a heart full of light - she's just lovely!

Curtis is fun and playful and charming, although he has a serious, tough side to him as well. He's thoughtful and romantic and he definitely has a little mischievous-deviousness going on too. Curtis is completely head-over-heels for Maria and nothing is going to stop him from getting her. He is absolutely wonderful and I positively loved him!

How to Silence a Rogue is short and sweet, but just because it's short doesn't mean that it's not as good or exciting. It sucked me in from the very first page and held my attention until the very last page. It's full of mystery, schemes, humor, a little danger and plenty of heart. It was so excellent and I can't wait to read more of Ms. Vayden's historicals - both the ones that are out or yet to come!

How to Silence a Rogue can be read as a standalone, it's told from Curtis and Maria's POV, and they get their happily-ever-after.
