Fairly predictable but a fun ride, dark and perfectly violent. Had a little trouble getting through the middle of the book cause I have the attention span of a dog. Emotionally complex, definitely it’s strongest point. Ending didn’t really end so now I must smash my head against the wall until an announcement is made.

Good read, some parts were slower than others and it takes 120ish pages to get into.
The book is about discovering her secrets of the past and her deciding to confront them (which she still hasn't really accepted- another reason why it's not a five star because her decision is dragged out). There are threats of an impending war. It takes you on a journey of discovery of the world. There is a lot of world building (including four element magic system) and building of characters- you'll know them very well by the end of it. Multiple pov.
Best of all it has great banter, romance, and magical dragon-like creatures!

Beautiful writing, lots of twists and turns that I can't wait to learn more about in future books. Immersive setting/ world building. The romance was fine, but not the book's strongest point for me. I still enjoyed it though and hope it develops more in the next one.
