To be honest from the moment I started reading I was expecting something along the lines of what ends up happening. I didn't fully put it together but I was definitely expecting the Lottery not to be something positive.

This was a really impressive examination and criticism of blindly following traditions and the power of group conformity. I'll probably reread this again with the knowledge of how it ends.

ummmmm, the ending was probably the darkest thing i’ve ever read. like she won being stoned to death? for what?! also, the little kid being given pebbles to stone his mother is SO messed up. but i would definitely recommend this to someone.
