I have a feeling this book suffered from being a midway point in the series: it's necessary to get the characters where they need to be for the rest of the series (physically and emotionally), but it wasn't particularly interesting in its own right. Mostly political intrigue that hasn't gone anywhere yet, but I do expect it to lead somewhere entertaining eventually at least.

Moderate: Grief, Violence, and Death
Minor: Vomit

Enjoyed this book, and loving the series so far. The ending is definitely a slight cliffhanger but glad to know the third book is out and ready for me to start already!😂
Graphic: War and Death

Well, I'm not really sure what I was expecting with the sequel, but if I were to distill this book down, there was a lot of set up, but not much payoff. I don't think I care enough about the characters to continue reading the series.
