Sadly became boring and a chore to read. The story was very slow and I started to dislike the relationship between the two main characters, it became a little to toxic for me. Shame as I loved the first one.

I have a feeling this book suffered from being a midway point in the series: it's necessary to get the characters where they need to be for the rest of the series (physically and emotionally), but it wasn't particularly interesting in its own right. Mostly political intrigue that hasn't gone anywhere yet, but I do expect it to lead somewhere entertaining eventually at least.

I really enjoyed - better than the first book! I’m hooked on the story. Would love some more complexity, but I think overall I am loving the story and the characters.

Well, I'm not really sure what I was expecting with the sequel, but if I were to distill this book down, there was a lot of set up, but not much payoff.  I don't think I care enough about the characters to continue reading the series.

Oh y’all want SPICY Romantasy???? This is IT! These books are so fast paced. This is the second in the Kingdom of Lies series, it picks up right where the first book left off…. and took me for a riiiiiideeeee. We have forced proximity, dark villain MMC, touch her and d!e, time magic, adventurous rebellion plot line, & found family.

Overall I’m extremely impressed with how this series is unfolding. Loved the multi point of views, I feel like I got more backstory on characters in this book which I appreciated. That cliffhanger????? A CRIME Stacia!!! I’m pressed!! 😩🫠 Thank goodness I divulged this on the day before next book’s release.

I listened to the audiobook in one day, pressed play and didn’t turn it off until it was finished. DEVOURED. Narration switches depending on the point of view, which I really prefer on an audiobook with alternating female and male perspectives. 5 stars for both narrators, kept me engaged and great storytelling voices.

Thank you to Netgalley & Dreamscapes for the advanced audio copy, I enjoyed this one just as much as the first. All opinions are honest and my own thoughts, as always <3
