Okay, this was way not my thing. I thought it was going to be different than it turned out to be. I thought it was going to be more mystery than backstabbing b%$@hes.
The mc has a boyfriend, but she ends up getting almost naked with someone else. She has the gall to say hey, maybe I should break up before I get jiggy. Gee, ya think?! and then, oh gee, photoed! and low and behold -- BLACKMAIL. all because she couldn't keep her legs together.
After that, it went down hill especially when she finds out that her 'friend' was making the beast with two backs with her boyfriend.
yeah, definitely not my thing.
There was usage of the f-word and some other words.
The writing style was good. There was nothing wrong with it.
This just happened to get on my dfn because I'd rather read a book about someone being loyal to their partner.

Everyone who loves Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, and/or House of Cards should definitely read this book. It has the class and style of Gossip Girl characters, the lying, backstabbing, and dead friend drama of PLL, and the dirty politics and scheming adults of House of Cards.
This book was ok. I enjoyed the main characters but felt it was flat and there wasn't enough answers to my questions. Hopefully the next book is better. Will definitely read the next one.
I won an advanced copy of this book. It was a really fun and quick read - took me less than two days to finish. Interesting twists and secrets and I love that it takes place in DC. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series!
I received this book for free through the Goodreads contest. It was ok - only Jackie and Lettie were likable. Generally, when I read books like this, there is something that draws me to read the next book in the series, but I'm not sure that I will as I didn't feel any sort of pull towards the story.
I won this book through Goodreads:FirstReads. I have to admit, I couldn't quite get into it at first but once i sat down and made up my mind to give it a fair chance, I loved it. It took me about 40 pages to get into it, but then I couldn't stop. Going to sleep late, getting up early, all because of this book. Incredible writing and relateable characters. One of the best books I have read this year. I loved the way she outlined the plot, giving you enough information, that you could have figured it out yourself, although I didn't, I was extremely shocked at the end! This was a really great book that I will be recommending to my friends.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. A fun read for those who enjoyed the Gossip Girl & Private series. The flow of the story was a bit choppy at times due to the flashbacks, which seemed superfluous. In addition, there were interjections about the city itself that seemed a bit awkward as well.
The best moments in the book are when the authors (Ella Monroe is a pen name for Marilyn Rauber and Amy Reingold) departed from the YA lit requisites and focused on the backroom politics that make a story set in DC unique.
