When Farmer Falgu decides to take a rare opportunity to visit the Kumbh Mela festival in Allahabad, his family and friends all recommend he see, taste, explore some part of it. But whilst there, Falgu's kind nature means that he misses out on these moments. Yet, with such kindness and love, Falgu is rewarded for his actions. I love Soundar's Karadi Tales series and Nair's illustrations which capture such a vibrancy of colour that I imagine is richly celebrated at this festival.
