Love Backman, but I think this is his weakest. “Grumpy old man learns to love” story is predictable but nonetheless sweet. But pick up Beartown instead!

Ik vond dit een prachtig boek. Het verhaal is zo eigen en Ove is een amazing hoofdpersonage. Al zijn eigenaardigheden en maniertjes zijn zo interessant en makem hem daardoor zo echt. Prachtig, verdrietig maar ook troostend verhaal. 
 Quote: Maar verdriet is onbetrouwbaar; wanneer mensen verdriet niet delen, kan verdriet mensen verdelen.

I loved this book. The characters were slowly built and your understanding of their situation and personality grew with each page in such a beautiful way. My hope for Ove to find his light in the darkness was gripping. I loved that he comes across so freaking grumpy and so stubborn but yet these imperfect people almost boldly enter his life and make him find purpose beyond his wife and you see he isn’t grumpy just set in his ways. But with a little love he softens. Loved it.
