Das Konzept von "The Secret", dem ersten Buch von der Autorin, war mir bekannt. Hero bietet wenig Neues, dient vielleicht eher als Erinnerung oder Auffrischung, wie man es gelegentlich braucht, wenn man sich etwas an- oder abgewöhnen möchte.

A nice-to-read 3rd installment of the same type of positive books by Rhonda Byrne. I really enjoyed listening to it and it fired me up to start dreaming about the future again.

The book made me realize my dream and more enough, motivate to work towards it. Bought me out of the labyrinth i was stuck in, which no amount of any therapy could. After a long while actually made me take a risk, a life-changing one and i'm actually glad i did it. I believe in following my heart now, no matter how hard it is and that the little steps would lead us to our dreams. No book other than The Secret would have helped in it more than now and its only right to return the favor!
Everyone of you out there, you are a hero and if you don't believe in yourselves, no one else will. So, get out of your comfort zone and do what scares you. It will be more than worth it, following your dream. I will promise you that and if you need any help, anything at all, someone to talk to,i will be right there. If you feel like there's no way out,hopeless and your dreams are worthless ,know that you are facing it because you are getting closer to your dream, even though it might not feel so, at the moment! But first go ahead and read this book. For, you are a hero and i believe in you!

3.5 stars. Listened to this one. Byrne narrates and has actors do the voices of real life people she has interviewed. It's well done. I really enjoyed this book and found it uplifting and inspirational. For people who expect a lot of new or different material from Byrne, it might be disappointing. However, I found it to be an excellent reminder and would recommend it.

This is a book about your goals, dreams and achievements in life. I am one of those people who can't make up their mind about their calling or what they would like to do in their life and with their life. This book helps with that and every other hypothetical step in your journey towards achieving that goal of yours. I didn't expect that from the title of this book, but it worked out perfectly for me.
I liked it, I became inspired, I have new projects now that were circling my head for years, but I have never looked at them seriously enough. I am excited. This kind of books work really well for me so I would recommend it to a person like me: one who gets inspired, who is searching for answers, who believes in the magic of her own power.

I've never read [b: The Secret|52529|The Secret (The Secret, #1)|Rhonda Byrne|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1482865039s/52529.jpg|2001660], and after reading [b: Hero|7736182|The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1)|Rick Riordan|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1464201003s/7736182.jpg|10107891], I'm not sure I want to read any other book by [a: Rhonda Byrne|29655|Rhonda Byrne|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1250448613p2/29655.jpg].
If you're really into reading motivational and inspirational stories/biographies then go ahead and pick up a copy of [b: Hero|7736182|The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1)|Rick Riordan|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1464201003s/7736182.jpg|10107891]. I'm warning you though, there's a lot of repetitive 'motivational' messages, quotes and snippets from the same 10 people, and a sh**load of clichés and extreme exaggerations.
I can flip to any random page in the book and pull out the most cliché-ed sentence ever (because every sentence in this book seems to be written with a cliché in mind). For example:
"To believe in yourself is perhaps the most powerful hero ability you have available to you. Your belief will carry you through every difficult situation or any challenging circumstances, and enable you to ultimately realize your dream!"
or
"The ultimate reward of the success of your dream does not mark the end of the journey, but the beginning of another."
and (this one here actually made me laugh out loud)
"After taking the final step on the Hero's Journey, you become a whole, holy human being - a true hero."
Haha. Ok. If you say so, Rhonda.
Overall, this entire book felt like a poorly written compilation of biographies on (and here I've taken the liberty of including their Wiki links for you to read, to save you the trouble of actually reading this book) Michael Acton Smith, Layne Beachley, Peter Burwash, Pete Carroll, John Paul DeJoria, Peter Foyo, Laird Hamilton, Mastin Kipp, Liz Murray, Paul Orfalea, G. M. Rao, Anastasia Soare, and of course, Rhonda Byrne - None of whom I would really label as 'heroes.' Sure, they all overcame some kind of obstacle in life and now they're all super successful. Is that all that it takes to be labelled as a 'hero'?
