Decent read overall, the plot seems pretty straightforward though. It didn’t take a lot to figure out what was actually happening. Molly herself is also interesting? to say. She’s at the least neurodivergent but we’re never told exactly, and throughout the book she struggles understanding people until the last 100 pages where she suddenly knows how to perfectly read someone’s expression. The book explains this by saying now she has friends who she knows are telling her the truth but that feels like a weird workaround for a character whose defining trait is she struggles understanding people.

Wait what?! I never wrote a review for the maid?! My heavens okay let’s see if I can muster up my thoughts and remember what I was going to say. I can hardly remember how it ended. OH! Okay here we go.
3.5 ⭐️ this book was talked about too much for me and I read it directly after greasing “the good sister” which is very similar and I liked the good sister much more. So I found myself not caring too much about the mystery of this book and mostly feeling really sad for this girl. It was very depressing for her. And the ending wasn’t too much of a twist for me either. So I would say more than anything, it just didn’t hit me at the right time and it was average.

I love Molly so much! At one point I had to stop reading and was reluctant to go back just because things seemed to be going south for her and I couldn't bear it. I was invested in her from page 1. I love it when a book has a satisfying ending that leaves you feeling content.
