Trinity Falls - Won on Goodreads. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it would not have been my first choice at first glance but proved to a good read. I am now happy that I entered to win this, even if at first it was just on a whim. The characters are believable, the feelings are much more realistic than other romances that I have come across (ie: characters do not have sudden bouts of anger just to make the story interesting) and there is an actual story line. Trinity Falls, as a small town/close-knit community, is written about in such a manner that you feel like you belong and would have a place in the town. Characters such a Megan and Ean seem like people you would have either gone to high school with or have known through events in town.
Megan has always lived in Trinity Falls and now operates her grandparents book store. She has experienced loss many times in her life and has always been pressured by her older cousin Ramona. Megan, having had a crush on Ramona's boyfriend in grade school, is shocked to hear that the man himself (Ean) is coming back to T.F and is going to stay. Ramona and Ean have long since broken up, but that doesn't stop Ramona from attempting to take him back.
Ean, fourteen years earlier left T.F to achieve his life long goal of becoming a lawyer and making it big in a city, has realized with the loss of his father that he has lost valuable time with family and friends over the last few years and wants to make up for that. He quits his job and moves back home, for now with his mother until he finds a job nearby.
Well it is a romance book - so obviously Megan and Ean meet (again) and end up interested in each other. A good, quick read - would recommend it.

Trinity Falls was a very good small town romance. I really enjoyed this book . I thank the author for putting the brownie recipe I wanted a bite every time it was served. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

I have had the first three books of the Finding Home series on my wishlist in my account at OverDrive and decided to go for the first one over the weekend. I am so glad I did - this small town contemporary romance brings something fresh to the sub-subgenre, most notably a more diverse town population.

This is the story of Ean, a man who was ready to move back to his hometown and put down roots after achieving his goals in NYC and Megan, a business owner and hometown girl. This is also the story of Quincy, BFF of Ean and a professor of history at the local university and Ramona, the mayor of Trinity Falls and Megan's cousin/Ean's ex-girlfriend. This is also the story of Doreen, mom of Ean and newly widowed and Coach Leo, also a widower and Ean's former football coach. Finally, this is also about the relationship between Ramona and Meghan.

I actually liked that the book had three relationships to follow, each distinct enough to keep them straight in the reader's head. The main relationship, Ean and Meghan, was hot and emotional, with Meghan growing a lot both on her own and with Ean. My favorite relationship though was Quincy and Ramona - what a wonderful gut punch! Ramona had a lot of working on herself to do, but Quincy had her back every step of the way - and that NYE kiss in her office was a big payoff after watching their relationship wind its way. Doreen and Leo were sweet, and their relationship's conflict came across as very true especially as widow/widower and older characters.

The big baddie was the economic conditions of small towns, which I loved. Meghan, Ean, Doreen, and Ramona all love their hometown, but each had different ideas on how to save it without gentrification taking over. Very timely concern and I always enjoy the villain being something the characters have to work together to overcome rather than catching the bad guy in the act.

I am looking forward to reading books 2 and 3!
