This book was interesting in the beginning. It fell off around the middle. I expected the story to keep me on the edge of my seat, but there were only a few eerie moments here and there. I did like how the wife's thoughts drove her to insanity and how she soon became and unreliable narrator.

I found this book to be ok. The plot was good but I found it to be slow. There was some repetition but I think that was needed for the build up. There were some creepy elements to the story but it could have used more.

The woman in the woods didn’t come across as the thriller it’s made out to be, it read as a creepy drama with mental health at its core.

Rav and Allie have just moved into a cottage in Pluckley, which has a reputation as ‘the witch house’ and from there we see the drama unfold.

I really felt like I was Allie and Agnes and going through their journeys with them. I’m so grateful to be back to reality now though!
