Really good book. Very sweet love story. Book also covers hard topics such as - depression, anxiety, ptsd, grieving the loss of a loved one, sexual assault, and toxic family.

Oh wow, wow, wow. This was my first read of Brittainy’s and I am beyond blown away. The power in her words and Oliver and Emery’s story. And Reese was just a ball of light, shining on everyone. The love, the anguish, the grief. The healing, for the both of them, and the words that we all need to hear sometimes.

“Healing doesn’t walk a linear line; it takes the messy route. I believe that healing comes during both the dark days and the bright ones. It’s not all rainbows. Sometimes healing means slicing open the scars that made you hurt so much before and examining them to fully understand yourself. Why did the cut hurt you in the past? How did it change you into who you are today? What can we learn from the pain of your yesterdays to better your tomorrows?”

I read this entire book in about a day, I couldn’t put it down. I can’t tell you how happy I am to both support and praise a black author for such a great story - Oliver was so many things, and I love that it focused on his healing with the help of Emery, along with hers and Sammie’s. Five stars across the board.

I chugged it literally! This freaking book made me emotional, made me swoon, made me mad, made me angry!

I felt both of the MCs, all i wanted was to hug them tight and protect them!

Oliver & Emery i love you

Everything will make sense at the end! I promise!

Should be a movie

I really enjoyed the book. The music references alone were spectacular. I appreciate a good soundtrack to a great story.
This book reads like a movie - I can see scenes, I can see the crowds, the locations. It’s got a complete story arc. It says so much about family, friendship and finding your way out of grief.
Thanks for a great read.

LOVED IT

I read this book in one afternoon. I absolutely loved it. It was such a beautiful story and dealt with so many issues. Family drama, abuse, loss, love, redemption, and so much more. I laughed, cried, and swooned. Reese was adorable.
This is the first book that I have read from this author and now I plan to read more of her books. I am an avid reader and have read over 250 books this year. This book is definitely in my top 3 favorites, if not my highest rank.
