This was great, the storytelling within the book was enjoyable, the breakdown on how to improve your own storytelling was useful. It was both enjoyable and educational and I'm really happy with the book.

This book does a good job of explaining the principles of oral story telling, especially for things like competitions and performances. As someone who studied theatre in college, I agree with a lot of what he said. However, this is a highly niche set of rules that works really well under very few specific circumstances. Part of the beauty of story telling is the unique voice each story teller has.
Don't take this book as gospel, but instead as a primer for jumping into the world of professional storytelling. Outside of that, don't feel pressured to live by its principles.

I really liked this book a lot. It was clever, insightful, original, and very well executed. I think it is a fantastic read for anyone interested in storytelling or wanting to be better and tell meaningful stories. It was humorous, full of heart, and was informative. It was one of the better books I have ever read on the craft. Would recommend. I will read it again, for sure.

I don't have any ambition to tell true stories orally, but I found the lessons from this book to be valuable for any kind of story telling, and also for journaling memories.
