This is a really sweet romance. Being 37 myself, I really enjoyed having a heroine my own age, and I loved that the guy was the younger one. I admit I felt a little unsure at the start, and I was worried Jax and Ella were both a bit pushy. Also if someone tells you they literally own a bakery, why on earth would you take them to Krispy Kreme lmao!! That's like taking a gourmet sous chef to McDonald's. Anyway, I'm glad I kept going because I ended up really enjoying it. After the slight pushiness in getting Liv's number and first date, Jax did end up being very respectful and lovely. I enjoyed the character arc of Liv coming out from under the shadow of her ex, and I enjoyed the found family aspect of the band mates and Liv's friends together. The main characters have good chemistry and all the sexier scenes fade to black, so it's good clean light fun.
I can see the author has set things up so that other stories are possible with the other characters introduced in the book, and I left feeling keen to read more.
Many thanks to the author for the free review copy, all opinions are my own.
