Such a remarkable epic, and I can imagine why this would be the calling card novel for Larry McMurtry. There’s a vast array of characters that it trails off on, and initially when something may seem like a detour, it always manages to find belonging among the rest. Never have I been so upset by the death of a character(s) in a novel. It truly swept me away, and I’m eager to read more by McMurtry.

It’s so good! Never would I thought I’d read a western and enjoy it alas here we are. Emo cowboys :)
