This book was breathtaking in the worst ways possible. Please do not make the mistake I did and read this when struggling with the topics this book discusses. This book caused me to relapse at least twice and almost relapse per like 10 pages. This book was beautifully written and if I wasn’t struggling myself it would’ve gotten a higher rating.

Such a good book! I would definitely recommend it.
I wish there was a second book to talk more about Riley! Charlie had such good development as well.

Trigger warning - I’ve never read a book on this topic before, but it so beautifully described the pain and suffering within someone who struggles with self harm and substance abuse. I found some of the passages so artfully written. Even parts that put my thoughts I could never say into words…

There was some naivety with the main character being younger but thats to be expected. That’s growing up and learning. When you’re lonely and full of so pain and emotion theres a lot you will do to try to drown it out.

It was so refreshing to read something that accurately describes this kind of experience. Really helps one understand that you aren’t in the struggle alone and there are others who suffer and understand just the same.

I’m going to be honest, as someone struggling with mental health as well, I was terrified that this book will trigger me so badly.. but it didn’t! it proved that i’m not alone, we are not alone!
The Story of Charlie Davis is heartbreaking, moving but mostly beautiful! I was captured by this story and i’m deeply touched! In a way i feel heard! Thank you Kathleen Glasgow!

Yet i wouldn’t recommend it, if you’re actually struggling rn and are scared it’s gonna trigger you! Get help first! You’re loved <3

Such an eye opening plot that made me realise how some people can really suffer in their lives at a point the don’t even have a place to live when none of their family members wills to help them . My heart is hurting with them . And let’s don’t wonder how people become homeless
