A fantastic overview of emotional intelligence.

I read this as part of working through the books that i have added to my to-read list over the years. I added this to my list maybe 8 years ago. I think had I read it then, it would have been helpful. I think that as I read it now, it feels too late. I already know these things. EQ has, perhaps, stepped a bit more into the spotlight since this was written? Perhaps helpful for people new to leadership tho.

skimmed. this has some useful tips on understanding emotions

This book covers details, but vaguely resembles the college professor who can summarize in 20 minutes but needs to pad 4 hours of content to keep people busy. Not my favorite, and it is literally basic 101. If you have some semblance (literally any idea at all) of what EI is, skip it and go for something more intermediate.

The book speaks about the significance of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) over the more classical Intelligence Quotient as the important factor affecting one's success in life. It's written more as a scientific book, rather than book full of anecdotes like a management or self-help book. One might find it's boring at some point, but it's balanced by more interesting case studies and observations at some other point.

I couldn't complete this book and don't know where I left it. :) .. Busy life.
