I like Christina's down-to-earth approach, as well as her pictures displaying varying sized people doing yoga. Her honesty about her own journey was refreshing. Still, I'll admit that in the beginning it felt a little contrived, considering how Christina is a tiny little firecracker of a thing. It was hard to relate to that as a plus-size yogi who is one of a handful to practice at my local studio. I guess this reminds me of just how constrictive the media portrayals of size and needing to be in control are to everyone, not just those of us at the higher-end of the scale.

I would have rated it four stars, but I find it hard to do so given all the recent happenings, with the sudden hate towards a practice praised so glowingly in this book. Especially since many of the people saying these things have said that they felt this way all along -- but apparently could not say so until after their book had been published and brought in enough money. Sigh.
