first read after years of not reading and I can say i did enjoy this book. It was a pretty easy book to get through. I didn’t really feel the tension and chemistry between jamal and sienna. However i’m a lover of act’s of service and it was cute to see all the things he did for her. Overall, quick and easy read.

Revenge or Love? This story had me gasping, giggling, crying… holding on to my kindle for dear LIFE. The banter is amazing.
Sienna is an ER doctor, with a family that doesn’t seem to notice her unless they need her. Until her dad’s gambling debts get to big and he uses her as collateral. A marriage to the local cartel leaders son.
Jamal lost his parents in a house fire 20 years ago. Brought up by his uncle Noah, he finds out who might be responsible for their deaths. And his son is about to get married. What a perfect time to collect on a debt owed to him.

Ashes was the right amount of plot and smut. It was also cute with how Jamal would react to Sienna and how quickly he fall over hills for her. And the dirty talk is what made this book IMO.
I did feel like the ending of the story was a bit rushed. It felt like the plot was pushed to the side and the focus was on Jamal and Sienna relationship/life. Other than that, I did enjoy reading Ashes and was able to finish it in a few days.

Listen, did Jamal make me swoon and sometimes think "the bar really is on the floor isn't it?" because this man was so down bad for her, he learned how to bake her favorite meals for her. screams.
This would have gotten a higher rating from me had it not felt too "instant love" for me. Listen, I have tried and tried to be a insta-love trope type of girl but it just doesn't do it for me. I get bored halfway through the book and think "i have another 50% of the book left and nothing is happening" It truly is a me problem at this point.
The book had an amazing plot and I enjoyed majority of the chapters, but after a while I just got bored. I hate saying that but it's true. im so sorry

OH! And the way he speaks different languages but talks dirty in French? Yeah, a fucking win! 🤭
This would’ve been a four star but there were a couple plot holes that were left in the book that I wasn’t a fan of :/
