THEY WERE SO ADORABLE!!
I had high expectations since I enjoyed the first book but it didn’t live up to my expectations.
I felt like there relationship was moving too fast. There was nothing actually happening and yet they were getting closer and It just felt empty - They didn’t have any chemistry and there was no real development of their relationship it just seemed like they weren’t together one minute and they were the next. Because of this I didn’t really connect with them as a couple.
I also felt the characters were a little weak. For example, Jamal is supposed to be a mafia man and as someone who’s read a lot of mafia romances I can say that he did not give off those vibes, especially as a mafia man who was avenging his parents I feel like he should have been a little colder and just had his walls up higher but it was like he was already falling for her when he stopped her wedding. Usually Im all for a man being obsessed in love but he didn’t seem to have any real character or personality outside of his affection for Sienna and I found myself not really caring about his revenge plans and even those just felt like an afterthought.
As for Sienna, I found it odd how she clearly had some trust issues with her dad but was so easily able to accept a man who had forced her to marry him.
Also I found the dialogue to be awkward and stiff at times and it wasn’t very plot driven which I can get behind if the romance is good but I cant say it was. I also HATE when characters call each other ‘husband’ or ‘wife’, please just don’t!
I also wish there were translations for the Arabic, while the Spanish and French were easy to translate, the Arabic written using the latin script made it impossible to translate and I couldn’t help but feel I was missing out on the having the whole experience
I saw someone say ‘we were told too much and shown too little’ and I think that perfectly sums it up. I am a little disappointed but I will be back for the Authors next book because the first book was good.

So, first I want to tell you that, I would've preferred it if the tension and enemies to lovers were extended but that did not stop me from loving this book.
The characters, the tension, the sarcastic remarks, THE HINT OF ROMANCE BETWEEN SIDE AND MENTIONED CHARACTERS THAT MAYBE FUTURE BOOKS, AHHH. LITERALLY EVERYTHING.
Personally, Theo Alvarez still has my heart but I love Jamal too. The leading ladies slayyed too, Sofia in a badass black widow way and Sienna in a life-saving way and I loved them both.
I arced for SeRaya with Nemesis and with Ashes too and ahhh I love this woman and she is slaying and I cannot wait to read more of her work
