There was a small chance that we might find out how magic works in "Loveless". No worries, though, readers! It still hasn't been explained. It's all about not wavering and withstanding pain and controlling people completely, but nothing concrete. It's somewhat intuitive, and I kind of vaguely have an idea what's up with it, but that's that.
Otherwise, this volume was all about relationships - whether they're of friendship, or of romantic love. Touching, but still as messed up as always.
