This was a solid read. A unique plot with a lot of interesting story elements that keep you fully sucked in. It does become a bit convoluted with the timeline because it’s just so intricate. That said, I’m very impressed with the writing style and loved the book as a whole. I would recommend!

This is one of those books you have to be patient with. The plot took a while to come into motion, but once it did it wasn't to be stopped. Had me frowning quite a bit, but man once those puzzle pieces were put together. Ahhhh.
I loved this book so so much. It left me empty and sad and wanting for more while knowing there *isn't* more.

I don’t know. This is my first magic realism book and it may just not be my preferred genre. The concept, somewhat familiar, was well executed, characters were fleshed out. But…too much focus on the internal struggle felt repetitive and the great love story from the synopsis didn’t happen. Technically it did, but it never happened in front of our eyes. I really dislike this trope the author used. It felt… convenient.

Again, it could be my preference.
