This book claimed my title of best book of 2024. It was the perfect combination of mystery, fantasy, and romance, all of these pieces mixing together to tell a heartwarming tale of love and family.

I will say this right off the bat. This book contains time travel, and as a VERY picky time travel reader, this is one where suspension of belief is best. I looked at this time travel more in the realm of fantasy than sci-fi, and that helped to keep me focused on the story itself and not the mechanics of the time-space continuum.

To be honest, it is hard for me to identify what it is that I loved so much about this book. The story was just so engaging. As the reader, we get to go on June’s journey with her, discovering pieces of her story as she does. I loved the complexity of emotions surrounding June and the other characters. Amidst the mystery and surprises that happen throughout the story, Adrienne gives the characters depth by having them experience conflicting feelings, just as humans do.

Adrienne combines different genres in such a fluid way that it is difficult to even classify a primary genre. I was equally invested in each part of the story, wanting to know what came next. and the writing was just so engaging, I couldn't help but listen.

This was such a wonderful book and a worthy winner of my last year's top book!
