I ended up enjoying this book much more than I thought I would. I had trouble getting into it at first and was not sure if I would actually make the effort to try and finish it. I am glad that I did.

I kind of wish I had just read [b:Assassin's Heart|21421609|Assassin's Heart (Assassin's Heart, #1)|Sarah Ahiers|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1435075595l/21421609._SY75_.jpg|40727660] as a standalone. I liked that one fairly well, but I was not as invested in this one because the characters I liked from book one were only side characters in this installment. I liked seeing the world from book one expand, but that was about it.

I got pretty bored with this one and just didn't care much about Allegra. It also had lots of instalove, and went in a direction that I just generally was not interested in. Not a bad book, but just not what I wanted from it.

I read book one in this duology way back in 2016, and it has never left me. Did I remember everything? Nope! But it's always been in the back of my mind that I needed to read the sequel.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. The writing wasn't always good, but it got the point across, and the storyline, while a bit chaotic, was fun! The romance was beautiful, and the appearance of the gods was really cool! I would definitely continue to read books in this world!

Didn't like any of it. I feel like I've lost my love for reading. I need help. I need books like Six of Crows, apparently the only book that can still get me excited after reading it for the 100th time.
