There's a lot of sections of the book that seems a little disconnected, mostly the Voice of Reasons. Because it's telling short stories, I often forgot what the overarching story of the Voice of Reasons were. But overall the book was a good starting point for the franchise. If I had to rank the short stories based on favourite to least favourite:

1. The Last Wish
2. A Grain of Truth
3. A Question of Price
4. The Witcher
5. The Lesser Evil
6. The Edge of the World
7. The Voice of Reason

3.75 stars.

The Last Wish introduces Geralt of Ravia and several of his companions using a compilation of individual adventures. Geralt is a complex and interesting character. He is a Witcher and it’s his job to deal with creatures that plague humanity.
This book was hard for me to put down. This is the first time I’ve read the series and I really look forward to continuing the storyline. The book itself is structured uniquely. Each chapter is more like an episode, and I’m not sure they are in chronological order. Even with this fractured structure it flows really well and encourages you to read on. There was never a chapter that was boring and the stories are exciting, full of action and an abundance of sarcasm.
Overall, if you are a fan of fantasy novels or fantasy television, I recommend this book to you.

'The Last Wish' interweaves a few stories about the early career of Geralt of Rivia, hero of a bestselling series of video games and two seasons of Netflix television. If you've ever wondered how Geralt got the nickname "Butcher of Blaviken," or how Ciri came into his life, or what the deal is with Yennifer, this is the book for you. If everything I wrote may as well have been in Basque, you may want to move along.

Personally, I found these stories entertaining and a pleasant diversion while driving to and from work. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to read them in print, but they practically have "made for audio" stamped on them.

The book does a good job of introducing some of the main characters, however, it can be a bit hard to follow along due to the ordering of the short stories. The are a lot of time jumps on the book, going back and forth to different events.
