I wanted to read something light and easy, without much drama and angst and this book was right at my alley.
There some things that bugged me while reading: the heroine was sometimes too good like "I really love nature and everyone is good let's all be good friends" and it was a bit annoying. The other thing is how at the beginning she didn't really understand the risks and consequences of being in a relationship with a teacher and was just "why should we care if we want each other", it was really irresponsible behavior. Also she didn't had any internal fight with herself for wanting Marc even though he was her teacher and so off limits, she just wanted to jump into his bed, rest of the world be dammed. Another thing that bugged me was how easily Sophia tells everyone about her relationship with Marc. He is her teacher, it is supposed to be a secret and still she doesn't even try to lie and whenever someone started to suspect she just spilled it, how stupid can you be?
Also, even though it is a student-teacher romance, it didn't have a lot of drama which was a nice change. But it wasn't like the other student-teacher romance book that I had read. It hasn't the forbidden feeling of being in a relationship with a teacher, there wasn't any excitement of the sneaking around, the need of secrecy, the factors of a good forbidden romance just wasn't there and it was a little dissapointing.
However, despite those things, this book felt surprisingly refreshing and different. I can't put my finger on a certain thing, but it felt different from any BDSM book I have read up until now in a good way. Even though it is considered BDSM book, it really is a very light one with some kinky sex and domination but without the Dom/Sub relationship.
To sum it up, despite the flaws it was an enjoyable read and just in time for my easy read mood.

Okay so I started reading this yesterday. I picked it up because I need something to take my mind off my appointment and how nervous I was. It certainly did.

I immediately noticed that not only does this book seem to be a rip off two books (Twilight and Fifty Shades which of course was a fanfiction of the former.) It also seemed a bit cliche. I mean Sophia is innocent and she seems like Bella in that she gives backhanded compliments especially in the first few chapters of the book. I mean she describes her friend as blonde and chubby and then says she wishes she looked more like her. Sophia describes herself as tall and willowy. I laughed out loud.

The Ryan and Cecile characters are so damn one dimensional. I found myself thinking about Cecile. What made her tick? Why was she after Marc? Why was she so mean other than to give Sophia a rival?

Ryan? Piece of shit. You don't fucking drug someone that you like. Like what the fuck? He should have been fucking arrested. Oh and if I'm not clear, you don't drug anyone. Period people.

The rest of the book followed the structure of Twilight. I mean Marc is even described in Edward terms. Pale skin. Dark circles under his eyes. LMAO. And then early in the book he leaves after encountering Sophia. So Twilight.

The sex was...really kinda vanilla. I've read harder sex in some of my single title romances. I mean despite the BSDM elements, it still seemed very vanilla.

But I will give it to the author that this book entertained me. I made me much calmer before going in to see the doctor. It wasn't badly written though I did catch a mistake. And it is cliche. But it was a light read and like I said I enjoyed it. So I actually think I might buy the next book. I want to find out what happens, I can't help it.

So I rec this if you need something quick and light to read.

I liked it the characters were great. Just not sure yet if I liked it enough to continue the series.

This has to be the most stupid book I've ever read and I've read some pretty stupid ones. It's a fifty shades of grey wannabe. It reminds me of Fifty shades in some ways and at the same time It's nothing like it. The author was clearly lacking material. The characters are confused. My worst character? Sophia, Like what's her deal? I could not wait to finish this book, I did not enjoy it at all. I mean if rewritten and edited thoroughly, the ivy lessons could be as amazing as other novels turned movies. This book is just one big fat joke. There's a sequel? count me out.

Actually a 2.5
