I probably should’ve waited and put a few books in between Carnal Urges and Savage Hearts, but I was so bewitched by Sloane and Declan that I wanted more. Now I regret it.
I’m sure I would’ve loved Malek taking care of Riley if it didn’t feel like she was a low-cost version of her sister, and if their story didn’t feel like a watered-down copy of Declan and Sloane’s, just not as good.
That said, I really love J.T. Geissinger’s writing style and storytelling, and I’ll definitely be reading more of her work.
But I think I need to put some distance between me and Queens & Monsters before diving into Brutal Vows.

This author truly has a problem. She always links women's behavior with hormones, and beyond the sterotype, she clearly doesn't know anything about what she is talking.
For instance, "Death by estrogen overload."... Why? What the heck do you feel the need to demean women in every book?
AVOID THIS BOOK. This author clearly has a problem with women, and women's anatomy.

I didn’t know that this was the third book in a connected series. It was fine.
Every time I think I have a favorite character… bam she changes my mind ! Loved Riley, this author never disappoints!
I forced myself to get this far, truly. I enjoyed the first two books of this series but this one was a dud for me. Nothing could make me care about Mal or Riley. I didn’t miss them when I wasn’t reading like I did characters in other books. It was just so boring. I’d get distracted by the excitement of paint that I could watch dry by a certain point in the book. I really wish I could pinpoint why, maybe the lack of interaction with characters beyond the main couple that made it very dry but I just couldn’t care enough to finish it.
