I usually hate when the MCs are separated, but this was really well done! LJ's writing is getting stronger with each book, and I just love Malin & Kase!

The Deets: The action keeps on coming in this one. I LOVE seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I don’t know why I’m not a fan of Malin but I adore Kase. I think it’s totally just a personal preference in personality of female leads. The stakes get raised as Kase is trapped in the Black Palace and Malin works to bring him back. And oh my gosh the climax of this book really takes a hold and then doesn’t let up until the end. And given that ending … the next book will probably be a favorite :-)

I didn’t love this one as much in the series only because Kase’s storyline broke my heart. Honestly, I think this story line could have been 2 books instead of 3, and it would have still hit in all the right ways without dragging you through it quite as much.
