As usual, Center delivers the feels, hard topics, and unique perspectives. I did think the MC's crush was a bit over the top since she's a grown woman, but I understand what was needed for the plot. There weren't surprises in this book for me, but I still really enjoyed it and was rooting for the characters to find happiness and peace in each other. I will, of course, be continuing through Center's backlist.

A step above the romantic comedy and chick lit stories that have flooded bookstores and social media. Center explores family and friendship,  trauma and healing,  and how the stories we tell ourselves impact decisions in ways large and small.

I just love this book so much. I love Sam and her growth as a person. I love Duncan and his work to get back to himself. I love that it takes place in a school. I love Alice and kind of want a book with her as the main character. While this book has a lot of emotional parts, it is ultimately a feel-good read.
