A concise introduction to Freud's early psychoanalytic theory. Simply stated, for the purposes of the lecture hall. Great for if you want a primer or a refresher on his thought without spending a lot of time reading into his longer works. (in other words, this is great for understanding the history of psychoanalysis if you'd like to make your way to someone like Lacan or other 20th century philosophy that deals with Freud, like the Frankfurt school or, on the opposing side, someone like Deleuze and Guattari).

20/12/2023 : It's been two years and not much has changed : it was both enlightening and infuriating. There are three things that I can say were meaningful to me : attachment to illness, projection on (maladaptive) daydreaming, the unconscious like mysterious closed doors.

"Le soleil et le vent ne sont guère favorables à l'activité sexuelle de notre culture" Merci Freud
Cela dit notre cher Sigmund a bien réussi à rendre la psychanalyse claire et accessible pour les débutant•es.
