This review and rating is specifically for Naughty List by Melanie A Smith

(I received an ARC for this book)

I started judging right out of the gate. Joanie was fired for…well, being irresponsible on the job. Purposely, just to get herself fired. Maybe next time, just quit? Sometimes, being in her head was a little much. I was glad those were silent thoughts and not for public consumption. Especially the way she thought about her best friend’s man?! And it only got worse. Less of those inner thoughts, and I would have enjoyed her as a character more. Joanie is extremely straightforward and enthusiastic, and I DID enjoy that about her! Greg is more reserved. He finds her forwardness as a turn on, but liking her is a tricky situation because of his own friendship with her best friend’s man. So, he pumps the breaks and turns this into a slow burn. That best friend of his warned him to be careful with Joanie, and I have to be honest, I’m glad he did. I was so worried he was going to get too attached and she was going to carelessly destroy him. One of those ‘he deserves better’ situations. This honestly deserved the space of a full length book. There wasn’t enough space to understand the characters, especially Joanie. Or maybe just completely take out the sudden introduction of Greg’s family? That felt weird. And so did her sudden want for more. It wasn’t until after I finished reading and had all these opinions that I was told this was an introduction to Greg and Joanie’s full length book. That should be at the beginning, not at the end.

My Favorite Quotes:
• “Anticipation can be pretty fucking hot too.”
• “Make me scream it, like you promised.”
• “I can’t wait until you make that noise because I’m between your legs.”
• “As much as I want to taste you, I want to fuck you more.”
• “Tonight, I’m going to worship you.”

7/10 Dirty Birdy

Naughty List by Melanie A. Smith

Hurricane Joanie blows into Alpine Ridge to spend the holidays with her bestie Mia after getting fired for having sex at work. Here's the kicker, the sex was bad to boot. She's on the prowl for a good time and a guy not in 'daddy' territory as far as age is concerned, so when she sees a spectacular backside attached to an equally handsome man...the tingling sensation occurs.

This is a wonderful anthology of Winter Romance Novellas and Novelettes.

Crushing It by Sofia Aves

I loved this short less than 40 page story very much. Kidnapped before a big hockey game, Crush finds himself in the trunk as he wakes bouncing around. Next thing he knows, he's on the side of the road however far from the big game and no idea how to get back. Along come a car with a sweet girl who will be the answer to a couple of his prayers I suspect.

Auld Lang Sighs by Rebecca Conrad

This one is a little longer than Crushing It, but just as good! Do you ever have that friend that you want to remove from the friend zone and go to the end zone? Well this is the story for you. Billie comes home early from being tortured mentally by a family member to find her heat is out. So in comes Lucas, who sweeps in and offers up his couch to her. While they go through the daily motions, you get to see their internal 'struggles'. This was a fun and sweet read.

Which is your favourite story?

What a flipping fantastic collection of 16 stories. I honestly could not pick a favourite story as they all were good. I highly recommend giving this 5 star collection a read.

Naughty list- Cute read, small town romance. Girl comes to town to see a friend after she has her own troubles. Finds herself hot and bothered for a close friend of Mia’s fiancé. Watch them go round and round with flirting and how far they can push each other until they finally fall into bed

This is a short, steamy story about a woman proudly on the naughty list!

Joanie is visiting her friend Mia in the small town of Alpine Ridge. She is between jobs at the moment. While helping decorate the community center for the upcoming carnival, she meets Greg and is instantly attracted. Lucky for her, he seems interested in her, too. However, with all the festivities for the town carnival, alone time is hard to come by….

Absolutely loved this book. The author brings you right into her world, where you feel the snow and smell the pastries. I loved the slow burn, and the characters are people I'd love to be friends with in real life. As usual, her writing is exceptional. Well worth the read!

I absolutely loved this book. I was hooked from the beginning and the pace of the story kept me interested till the very end. I loved the Hallmark-ness of the NSFW book, and I couldn't help but laugh every time Joanie got horny over Greg (who wouldn't want a piece of Greg the Mountain Man?) I loved that the man wasn't one of those tall, 6-foot-plus fictional men because this gives the short kings a huge chance at love.

The smut was incredibly steamy, hot, and intense, and it was the epitome of naughty. Definitely lived up to my expectations of Christmas romance. My favourite part was the thrilling chase in which they did their own version of foreplay.

As I finished this book in one sitting, I'd recommend it to people who want a short, to-the-point romance with no angst, high sexual tension, and explicit sex scenes that will leave them panting and jealous.

Naughty List by [a:Melanie A. Smith|18088778|Melanie A. Smith|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1572828919p2/18088778.jpg]

After finishing the advance reader copy all I want for Christmas is to be put on the Naughty List! Melanie did a great job in this short novella of laying the ground work for the full-length novel coming out in 2023. I can't wait to see how the city girl and the mountain man continue on.

FMC, Joanie, is a badass lawyer, who recently lost her job and travels 'home' for the holidays to be a third-wheel with her friends; Mia and Nate. Joanie ends up meeting Nate's co-worker, the MMC, Greg - he has a strong, caring, lovable personality.

The slow-burn was intense, the jokes were funny/cute and the spice was spicy!
