Oof. Ouch. Like a sucker punch to the heart. Conveys a big message for such a short book.

What a book! I finished it a day ago, and I'm still grieving. From the moment I saw it, I knew I would love this book. It seemed to call my name, but I could never find it until I ran across it in a bookshop in Edinburgh, where it is set. I loved every single line of it. However, it has a particular audience: it is poetic and can be repetitive. It is essentially a conversation with graphic descriptions of torture and sexual abuse. I would proceed with caution.
