I am a bit conflicted on this one. Although I liked the story and the characters, there were aspects that I had a hard time reading. Like how she treated the two guys. I get that this was an unusual situation and that she was way out of her element, but at the same time her actions annoyed the crap out of me. Although I would like to continue reading this series, I do have my reservations. For now I will take a break from it I suppose. It was hard enough to force myself to read on through seeing what happens on the other side of each situation.
This book has some of the worst writing and characterization I have ever read.

It's not an award winning writing, but it's a great easy enjoyable read, perfect when you need something on the lighter side. There is an 8yr age gap between characters.
February book club book. Easy/fast read, not great writing. Cliche Cinderella story.
If I could give it 2.5 stars, I would. It was a light and quick read, and I finished it in just a few hours. It was just what I needed to get out of yet another reading slump, but I can see why people don't like this book.
I feel like the character development was really lacking, and there were times I wanted to tell Penny how stupid she was being. I really didn't care for her relationship with Tyler, and how he sexually assaulted her in one chapter and in the next she completely forgave him and now they are best friends.
I get the whole forbidden romance thing, but the relationship with James was just odd and unbelievable. And I swear to God, I was one "professor hunter" away from throwing my kindle out the window. Their relationship felt like it was trying to be a milder version of 50 shades, but it missed the mark.

In the last part of the book the main character became annoying and unbearable to read about her. She was jumping to conclusions and also leading on a guy who was really sweet and nice for no reason other than she didn’t want to communicate with the main love interest. The miscommunication in the third part was horrible and it seemed that neither of the main character were actually gonna talk about their problems and instead just have sex and do things to piss each other off.
addicting read
Really easy read and super addictive.
Penny is a little immature in my opinion but she is young so I can forgive her because she is living out my fantasy.

Eh
I was a little disappointed since all the reviews were amazing. This is actually the first book I’ve rated only 3 stars. That being said, the first 30% was so slow, but then it picked up and it picked up fast. I really didn’t like Penny. She was selfish and immature and I feel like she acts on impulse way too much. I feel like all the issues she had, she caused herself
