When I first picked this book up it sounded like a nice monster romance on more of a lighthearted side but I was instead pleasantly surprised! This is the fifth book so I was a bit confused but I still managed to get the premise fairly well, which is good if you put some between books (or start on the wrong one like me lol) The FMC's chapters were honestly so amazing to read, she's self-assured and badass who took her bad hand and turned it into a winning one. Zatruk on the other hand is described as a beast but has the softest heart and made me fall in love with him within pages!! Overall the story was amazing, the romance and b-plot of Zatruk trying to stave off war caused by blood rage went hand in hand and managed to bounce off of each other perfectly. After reading the first four books in the series I loved how Regine Abel went back to the setting of I Married a Birdman and gave us the story of the other side of the conflict. Overall a great read and the steamy parts were just so much fun hehe!

My first venture out of orc romances into different sci-fi type creatures and honestly I enjoyed it. It moved really quickly, there really wasn't any conflict between the two main characters of Rihanna and Zatruk and it was an interesting world they were on. The world had a mix of super advanced technology and some more archaic rules and architecture but the imagery was good without being overwhelming. It was a super easy, quick but nice read.
At times it felt like there was more focus on the world/society they were trying to build than on the details of Rihanna and Zatruk's relationship. I wanted to see more of those little moments that bonded them and showed them getting to know each other but that's just a personal preference. I liked the other characters that were involved in the story and how the different species interacted and figured each other out to work towards something that would benefit them all. Side note, I ended up loving Wonjin bless him, we really got to see different sides to him through both the FMC and MMCs points of view which I loved.

Another delightful installment in this series. I do wish more of the story focused on Zatruk and Rihanna's relationship and less on the other colonies and characters. But it was fun seeing Dakas and Luana again!
