Loved the fantasy and world building. Although there were quite a few traits that I've seen in fantasy books/stories before.

This is one comic where I picked up the first couple of issues way back at release but never got around to reading further. Reading the volume one collection, I'm reminded of how brutal the story and imagery can be, it can get a bit graphic if you are sensitive towards violence/gore.
That being said, the artwork is gorgeous. I picked up Issue #1 way back when, and Monstress always stayed with me as one of the most beautifully drawn titles I had ever read.

Excited to read Vol. 2

Re-read: Didn't realise that it had been almost two years since I read this. It's even better the second time.

The story was well-told and beautifully drawn; I finished it in one sitting. But the torture and murder was a bit too gory for me, and I don't think I'll be reading the next volume (or even re-reading this one).

The story is good. But it feels like you are dropped in the middle of the story and its a bit hard to peice through.
