I really enjoyed this book! It was really good then slowed a bit but then the twist pulled me back in. Not sure how believable the twist is, but 🤷🏻‍♀️

The world building for Alaha was great, but it felt like once they’d traveled to the other island everything was suddenly really underdeveloped. I’m interested in the plot but feel like this could’ve done with a few more edits ahead of publication.

This book had me hooked immediately! It follows what feels like the standard romantasy blue print, but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
The book was well paced and there was a good balance between the world building and the plot. It was really easy to become quickly immersed in this world.
As the plot went on the pacing felt a little bit rushed in some places and certain things felt a bit random and lacked introduction / build up.
The characters were really easy to invest in and very believable.
The book ends on a cliff hanger after a huge twist in the story. This also felt rushed and I would have liked a bit more on this.
