Oh Bartie, my buddy, my pal, you wonderful despicable creature you. How can you not like him. He's as great as he says. Great book. Glad there is a story with this character that isn't a trilogy. It's nice having a standalone book with him to enjoy easily. I loved everything. If you haven't read any of these books, stop reading this and go read it now. You will not be disappointed.

A triumph. Fast-paced, entertaining, clever. Finally, it’s (almost) all about Bartimäus. I’d love another novel like this one.

Hilarious! If the prologue is this good I can’t wait to read book 1. Fantastic writing, world/magic building. Love the accurate bits of epoch history thrown around.
