DNF at 34%. The first third of the book was focused on

the FMC being raped by their kidnapper as well as the MMC (against his will as well) at gunpoint for approximately 20+ days.

I found it to be gratuitous and difficult to be invested in the characters. In other books, there typically has been time for the reader to develop a relationship with the main characters before introducing such a plot point but that didn’t happen in this book.

i really enjoyed this book. i listened to the audiobook and was listening any chance that i got. i finished it in, i believe, 3 sittings - would’ve been 1 if i didn’t have other things to do haha

there were some times when cora was feeling confused that i wanted to knock her upside the head LOL but she finally found clarity haha

there definitely are a lot of deep topics in this book, so please take tws seriously

this was my first jennifer hartmann book, but certainly won’t be the last 🤩

I could not bring myself to finish this.
I tried. 

The writing was not great and I couldn’t bring myself to form a connection to the characters. Also goes from 0-100 within the first 20 or so pages. 

The situation seemed off as well as the main characters actions/reactions to the situation both during and after.
