⭐️⭐️⭐️💫I was on a Stacy high after Forget Me Not, so I grabbed this as it was the only one other’s I hadn’t read. Another fun one. Good twists and turns, some things I didn’t see coming, but out of all hers this was my least fav. Still good and entertaining.
I finished this audio book in 2 days, it kept my interest and had me wanting to know how it all played out in the end.
Margot is a very shy, introverted college student trying to get through life after the death of her best friend over the summer before her freshman year at college.
At the end of the year, she is invited to rent a house with 3 other girls. Sloane, Nicole & Lucy. She has been obsessively watching Lucy for most of the year, and her infatuation with her is unnerving from the start.
The book alternates chapters from 'before' and 'after'. Before is the summer and school year for the girls and the frat house boys who live behind them. All the parties, drama, and college life. Including flashbacks for Margot and her friend Eliza who died.
The after chapters are after one of the frat boys Levi is killed and Lucy goes missing.
Some parts of this book are glaringly obvious, like what happened to Eliza. You don't know exactly, but the writing is on the wall.
The rest had me wondering, it seemed too obvious and I didn't the our author would make it that simple. I'm glad I kept going because it wasn't that simple. While it still wasn't believable, most thrillers today aren't, so that wasn't too shocking.
Overall it was entertaining and kept me wanting to know more about who Margot and Lucy really were. How they were tied together in the past and present, and also who killed Levi and why, and most important, what happened to Lucy.
Quick read, recommended if you need a filler between your library rentals like I did.

The narration is very good.
The story? What story? lol, NOTHING HAPPENS. If it wasn’t for the before/after timeline, this would’ve been a DNF.
The characters are interesting. Well, except Margo, the MC.

I really love this author and her stories! Since this one takes place on a college campus, everyone is drunk or high and that adds just another crazy element to an already crazy plot. Just when I thought I’d had the story sorted in my mind, Stacy would hit me with another twist. It was great! Deducting a star because sometimes the end of a chapter would end on such a cheesy line I would literally scoff or chuckle haha. It was just a little too over the top for me. Still, a great psychological thriller and a fun one to reminisce on those wild college days.
