Is this my typical read? No.
Do I usually hate birth control tampering? Yes.
Do I typically hate MMC's that baby trap the FMC because they can't lose them? Absolutely.
Do I love Evan with my whole heart? 100000%
Despite him being the biggest dickhead in the world with Kiera's birth control, he's so lovable. He's charming and honest and goofy and so, so dumb. He's actually really smart in all the dumbest of ways and I kinda love it. A lot. I don't agree with him about anything of what he's doing, but it was fun following his thought process and seeing how clever he could be when he put his mind to it.
Kiera was also amazing. She was incredibly relatable through the entire story. Honestly, she is the brains Evan needs and watching her be charmed in spite of herself was catnip. Seeing them bicker away their feelings until they couldn't? And knowing from the start that Evan's been a fucking goner and refusing to acknowledge it? I just. I really loved this book. All fun vibes here.
It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. Most people who like the crazy possessive MMCs typically like them to be alphaholes and most people who love the himbo that Evan is typically aren't into b/c tampering and breeder tropes. And while I'm usually in the latter category, I really did love this one. Part of that was because I knew what was coming. The summary and TWs are there, it's not pulling punches to save face, it's just telling the story of two stubborn, pining idiots falling in love and one of them is a dumbass throughout it.
The other part of it, though? It's so entertaining. Funny and charming and sweet and so many warm, fuzzy moments, and touches on that scary moment of leaving college knowing you're never coming back.
Also he has a pierced dick. 🤷🏻♀️ We know why we're here.
