dark slow-paced

This was a turn of events.
An impromptu read picked up in the throws of exhaustion.

But what a fabulous decision.
Think narcissism and sadistic personality portrait with pure honesty. Brutal awareness.

Great narrative and first person monologue.

I won't spoil the story but the guy is totally odd.

Read it.

Honestly? I picked this book up to decide if it was worth keeping on my bookshelf or not. I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would and probably understanding it more than I did last year. Might read the second one eventually? Might not? I’m not sure about that.

It was actually interesting to try to figure out this character and get to know him! He’s deeply hurt, paranoid and self-centered, trying to navigate the world. Most of his actions and thoughts aren’t moral.

> There’s a couple trigger warnings, so i suggest looking them up if you want to read this book.

It was intriguing, but also quite eventless.

A couple of quotes stood out to me, but I overall wouldn’t recommend this book.

Though I have to say, if you’re interested in morally grey/wrong characters, with awful & complex personalities, you might like reading about this main character. He’s misogynistic, self-centred and believes he’s entitled to everything from everyone.
His perspective was interesting at first, but the way he thinks got annoying.

I heavily hesitated dnf’ing this book, as it started to get boring and I was almost falling asleep on it.
I won’t read the second one.

shittiest book ive ever read. never listen to those white freaks on tiktok

he definitely deserved every single bad thing that happened to him lmao

I was going to give this one star but i think taking any amount of time to write and get something published earns higher praise, despite the contents.

Ive had to do an amount of guessing and assuming in order to form a wee review for you here. So going by the fact it was published as Anonymous- it is probably sincere? Or someone wanted to experiment with word vomit and were ashamed to put their name to it.

The first two chapters chronicle intense abuse against women, and though i get ill reading first hand reports of victims recounts, this reads almost like an experiment of a persons imagination of how far they WISHED or that they daydreamed they could go with abuse. Maybe its because im reading from a book and therefor its easy to imagine its all been exaggerated and fictionalised.

Everything after this is an extremely dull remembrance of a lonely rich mans existence as he works a job he hates. Actually sorry that makes it sound almost endearing.

There is a giant build up to some epic finale with like a wait til you guys read what happened to me displayed like some sort of symbolic “all those girls i abused well u know THIS ONE GIRL REEALLLY KILLED MY SOUL” and it is so unbelievably confusingly underwhelming i had to reread the end because it seemed like he had genuinely misunderstood what had happened to him. Or tried to fabricate something and could only find inspiration from folks he saw as he stared around a bar.

Anyway well done for getting published but also this is not great, and mate it is never ever too late to go to therapy or get some help.

The first time I read this, I was doing my A-levels, and boy does this feel like it.
