On August 31, 1935 no one, not even the fishermen who knew the way of the sea were particularly worried when the signs of an oncoming storm first appeared on that Saturday morning in Key West. Each woman has their own struggles and circumstances they must overcome. Helen must getaway not only from her cruel abusive husband but also from a life that has no future for her unborn child. Mirta must find out just whom her family has forced her to marry and see if love can be found in a stranger. And Elizabeth must find her long lost brother in a effort to reclaim the family she once had and the courage to seek freedom from others who would confine her. All while the storm brews in the background and forces everyone to stop and await the outcome.
This is my first novel that I have read by Chanel Cleeton and definitely will not be my last. I loved the stories of each particular character and their frightening experiences of survival were written perfectly within the history. This book will be published June 16th and I highly recommend you give it a read!
