Tortura literária

I’ve had this book on my shelf for years and I’ve picked it up several times and never finished it. I finally completed it and I found it both motivational and inspiring, but it would require a great deal of research and learning for me to be able to implement the strategies involved. This is written with US terminologies and legal standings, I’m sure these are all possible in the UK but it’s therefore not a book you can put down and immediately go out and start work. The common sense in it you can follow easily, start young, educate yourself, invest, invest, invest and I will take some knowledge from it, but it’s largely reinforcing things I already know. This book is a good launch pad for me to go and learn more in-depth from a UK perspective.

Pros: the advice in this book is good. It says things people need to hear about debt vs assets and financial education. It's got good stories of creative ideas for making money.

Cons: the writing is poor. It seems stream-of-conscious and lacks structure, jumping from thought to thought mid paragraph. He also says some awful things about poor people. "Poor people have poor spending habits." Ouch. Um, no. Check yourself there sir.

I can't decide if I recommend this book. It definitely expanded my view of possibilities for my money. For that I'm grateful. But would I ever roll this book out as a life changing read worthy of everyone's time? No.
