I won this novel from Darkfuse during an online Meet the Author event.
This book was quite unique; I don't think I've ever read anything quite like it. It was a horror/sci-fi trip.

The story starts off with our protagonist Valentine getting out of jail. Val was sent there because his girlfriend Kate was underage and Kate's brother Rich was not too happy about their relationship, even though he used to be best friends with Val. Then things get weird.

Almost immediately after he returns to his mother's mobilehome, a humming in Val's head begins. Then Val begins sleepwalking. Then people start turning up dead.

Interspersed throughout the main narrative are excerpts from a book called "Trinity" which involve a woman being interviewed regarding her alien experiences. These clips slowly begin to reveal a lot more of the story.

I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just wind it up and say that I enjoyed this book. The ideas are fresh, which is impressive because much of the book explores theories that can be seen on Ancient Aliens every day on the History Channel. To shed new light on these old tales and to add her own spin shows that Kristin Dearborn has talent. I look forward to reading more of her work in the future.
