I actually read the Sarah Marshall version on Patreon from You're Wrong About. It was great!

Of course it was good. It was a classic. I wanted to check it off my list and get my first taste of Dickens. Overall, I really enjoyed it. Beautiful phrases and overturns about Christmas that didn't make me yak everything up.
Will write more later.

2017 -- Always my favorite. It's a Christmas morality tale for the ages. I love reading about Scrooge's transformation. All the stage and screen productions are just pale imitations.
2012 -- Just as wonderful as ever. This time I was struck by two very different thoughts. First, this is a classic morality tale full of repentance and redemption. Scrooge starts with doubt and sarcasm, then moves to interested observation, then he becomes the penitent student who anticipates lessons before they are directly taught, and finally he is a committed convert. Such a beautifully complex character! ... The only thing I wish Dickens had touched on was the final fate of Jacob Marley. Maybe that could be a springboard for some worthy fan fiction! (Just kidding. Please leave well enough alone.) ..... The second thing I was impressed by was the wonderful array of food that was described. Next Christmas I'm going to invite all my friends over for "A Christmas Carol" dinner. Will you come?
2008 -- This is a story that I’ve always known, but never got around to reading. I have seen the stage production several times, and no Christmas season would be complete without a viewing of the Disney version …with Goofy’s brilliant portrayal of Jacob Marley. Anyway, this year I finally got around to reading it and I don’t know what took me so long! It was great great great! The descriptions and imagery are really wonderful. I particularly liked the party at Fezziwig’s, the description of the Cratchit’s holiday meal and the scenes of Christmas in remote parts. Very good.

2nd read, listening to Kyle M's narration.
What a nice experience to listen to an audiobook. Love his narration, he makes the story alive.

I have always cherished this story. Finally, I decided to read it in its entirety from Christmas Eve to Christmas morning. It was wonderful!
