DID NOT FINISH: 54%

I didn't dislike this book, but at over halfway through it has been more memoir and reflection on how white European values shape our perception of the natural world. There is some discussion around Native American cultures and their reltionship with nature, how little binary exists in plant and animal kingdoms, and interesting facts about creatures, but I realized I was only listening to the book to pass the time. The prose is lovely and has a needed place in our world, but ultimately I went in looking for a more educational non-fiction work than this provides.

What a beautiful short book that weaves the queerness of human kind into the world of plants and animals and vice versa. There were things mentioned in this book like a sit spot, which absolutely resonates with me. If Robin Wall Kimmerer gives a good review of a book, I will definitely read it and this book gave me similar feelings as to when I read Braiding Sweetgrass. Just a lovely book.
