This book was SO GOOD. As a trans man and a pagan/druid, I related to soooo much of the author's writing. I'm recommending this book to everyone I know.

This bookwas advertised as an analysis on queerness in nature. When really this book is a mix of biology (understandable), memoir, and a *heap* of history—with a vague tie in to the authors queerness. I know the book needed a background setup for the layman reading, but, I was hoping for a deeper analysis on how these things wrap back around to queer identity, as it was very surface level. Making the book a little disjointed to me.

Most of the book has a subject -> subject -> subject format (like a scientist writes lol) that I think needed elaboration.

I think this book was still a great read, it just tried to do too much in a shorter book. I wanted more!

What a lovely read! The passion the author has for the natural world is very clear. I learned more about many animals that I ignored in the past. What is better though is I now feel a stronger more personal connection to those beings.
