Half the time I enjoyed it, the other half I was confused. It took me a while to understand Iris. Was she really a witch? A dream of Geillis? A familiar? Did that make Geillis really a witch because she could see Iris? Iris didn’t even know why she was there. Aside from that it was a heartbreaking story of what men will do to women just because they don’t like them, and some history behind the 16th century witch trials.

Upsetting story about a young girl from the 1500s who is accused and sent to death for being a witch and is comforted by another woman from the modern day. I enjoyed how Fagan connected how misogyny has always been something that women and girls face, regardless of the time period

Enjoyed this a little less than Rizzio. Fagan does a good job linking misogyny of the past to that of today however.

This was eerie and heart wrenching. A horrible tale about the evil of men. It physically made my stomach sick to read about all this nastiness. I loved the double perspective and the ending.
If the story had been a little bit longer I would’ve probably given it a higher score. I wanted to know more about Gillian. I would recommend though, it was beautifully written
